Give Back to Your Team This Holiday Season

Importance of Employee Appreciation

The holiday season has everyone reflecting on what the past year has brought them. It’s an excellent time to show appreciation for those who helped you get your business to where it is now! At Selflube, we are always looking for new ways to give back to our team members and community. Showing gratitude makes your team feel recognized and results in higher work morale. It builds a sense of community within the workplace, and improves company culture, all things we love promoting at Selflube!

In reference to showing appreciation to those hard-working employees, we wanted to give a special shout-out and thank you to a few team members at SelfLube! Gavin, who is in our Saw Department, and Karen who is in our Shipping Department. Thank you for your commitment to our company and all your hard work. Gavin just celebrated his 10th anniversary, and Karen has been working with us for 20 years! We can’t thank you enough.

We wanted to promote the spirit of giving by sharing some tips you might use this holiday season–or throughout the year to help build your company culture and community.

What Can You Give Your Employees This Year?

This article states that according to a survey taken by 2,044 workers, 81% are motivated to work harder when shown appreciation by their boss. Showing a little appreciation to those who work for us goes a long way. As we wrap up the year, here are ideas on how to show employee appreciation in the workplace with a seasonal spin!

  • You can give individual recognition to team members by having one-on-one meetings with them to reflect on their performance throughout the year. It would also be a good opportunity to discuss professional goals for the next year.

  • Treating your team to a meal is a great way to say “thank you for the hard work this year,” or having a potluck lunch at the office is a good way to promote team bonding and company culture by sharing favorite foods together.

  • The holidays are a great time to do team bonding activities. Like a cookie bake-off, gingerbread house decorating contest, or an ugly sweater contest.

  • Sending appreciation messages to your employees is a great way to boost morale.

  • Holiday bonuses are a great gift to your team members for the season.

  • What better way to say thank you for your work than paid holiday leave? This allows employees to relax with their families over the holidays instead of worrying about getting time off.

So when you are thinking about what you are thankful for this holiday season, don’t forget about your employees. Even the smallest gifts or even just voicing your gratitude goes a long way in spreading holiday cheer. And it will promote a better work ethic for your employees, too!

When it comes to mold and die components, choose a company that not only has a long record of product excellence but treats its employees right.
